In addition to her coursework, she participated in an internship at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility, conducting group and individual therapy. Following this clinical experience, Amy pursued her Master's degree in Social Work, with a minor in Mental Health at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Once Amy completed her degree in Social Work, she returned to California to begin her professional internship. She worked with children, ages 11-19 years old, diagnosed with Severe Emotional Disorder and living at Aviva Center, a residential community.
